Mentor Group have worked with Johnson Matthey for over 15 years. We were asked to design a bespoke programme for recently appointed line managers in order to rapidly develop their skills to manage their teams to high levels of performance.

We created a new cutting edge programme that was matched to the Johnson Matthey leadership framework, fitting well with the company’s culture and ways of working.

Our solution offered an innovative blended approach integrating:

  1. A 3 day workshop module
  2. Two virtual reinforcement sessions
  3. 1:1 telephone based coaching for each participant


All programme content is orientated around the real day to day challenges participants faced as new line managers, with a strong emphasis on back at work application and action. It encourages the sharing of experience & development of strong networks across the business, to share their insights & link learning to business results.

In this case the line managers of the participants were surveyed for feedback on the behavioural changes and improvements they had seen in attendees of the programme.
