With over fifteen years experience working at the senior level, Sue’s expertise is in creating Leadership and Management Development initiatives that achieve business objectives. She offers multiple perspectives on addressing business challenges, having headed up leadership development units and held both internal and external consultancy roles. Sue’s experience spans finance, marketing, law, education and retail organisations, such as Tesco. Her approach involves finding a balance between challenging leaders and supporting them in order to achieve sustainable improvement – and return on investment. By looking at leadership style, interpersonal skills, influencing, handling conflict and team building, Sue delivers powerful change programmes. Her work also covers engaging people in strategic objectives, coaching, managing challenging situations and presentation skills. As part of Mentor Group, she’s helped organisations identify top talent and create new leadership development strategies.
Jim’s early career spanned senior sales and management roles in the IT sector, including positions in Nokia, ICL and Fujitsu. With roles predominantly outside the UK, primarily in the USA, South Africa and SE Asia, Jim has an in-depth knowledge of cultural and regional variations in business practice which benefit Mentor’s global client businesses. He is one of Mentor’s three consulting directors, alongside Chris Norton and Neil Kelly. Jim specialises in Business Development working strategically to help both individuals and companies secure major and strategic account revenue streams. Jim designs and delivers a comprehensive range of development interventions that are both on-site and client based, often working extensively with clients on a global basis through large-scale, long-running and highly successful Mentor programmes.
Prior to joining Mentor Group, Christopher spent his professional career in management within the Royal Navy, in the international, diplomatic and defence fields. As a consultant he specialises in the areas of Management Development and Personal Effectiveness. His high energy and enthusiasm ensure that whether programmes support traditional manufacturing or emerging technologies, commercial business or government departments, they always deliver. Christopher is particularly involved in negotiation skills, where he brings his experience of international organisations and ministerial offices to play. Unsurprisingly, he has a realistic attitude to leadership and is focused on getting prospective leaders to accept responsibility willingly and purposefully. Personal skills, the ability to make an impact and portray presence are other areas where Christopher helps individuals to succeed.
As Director of Mentor Group, together with Neil Kelly and Jim McManus, Chris specialises in Business Development including sales, customer service and operational coaching. Chris is co-author of 'Bareknuckle Customer Service' and is a Master Practitioner and Coach in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). He has a passion and belief in coaching and development to achieve results with people in technical, service and sales roles, and manages a wide range of projects for FTSE clients. Chris originally worked with Honeywell as UK Head of Customer Services heading up a 300 strong division. This was followed by a move to Dell, helping to evolve their distinctive technical and customer services model, leading to his appointment as Sales and Account Director with responsibility for UK, European and Global operations. His experience and consultancy expertise has helped major organisations make improvements to their customer satisfaction index and customer retention rate, as well as achieve testing revenue growth targets.
