Mazars Organisational Development
Operating in 42 countries, with a stronghold in Europe, Mazars provide audit, tax, and advisory services to global and local businesses and individuals. The company comprises 8,000 professionals and reports consolidated turnover of €650m.
To ensure recently qualified, technically excellent accountants could also succeed in managing people, and through developing their careers allow the business to meet its challenging growth targets. A tailored accredited management programme delivering personal and business dividends was required.
All delegates successfully completed the programme with the majority going on to complete the Chartered Management Institute qualification. Participants are unanimously more confident with proven management skills. The initial project has now doubled in size enabling more accountants to benefit from the programme and provides Mazars with real competitive advantage over other top firms.
"Mentor truly understands the different perspectives of all stakeholders. The Mentor Programme had a measurable positive impact on our organisation and our cohort of new managers and results in internationally recognised professional qualifications." Brendan Collins - Director of People and Development
How Did We Do It? The Mentor Assess, Develop, Evaluate (ADE) Model
The programme which Mentor created helped Mazars to achieve its strategic objectives based on Mentor's Assess, Develop, Evaluate (ADE) approach.
Mentor worked closely with internal sponsors to pin-point the drivers for this programme. Development Centres were designed to assess the abilities of new managers against the organisation's competencies. A series of exercises were created to reveal which aspects of management development were required to enable the delegates to achieve the level expected by the organisation against the organisational competencies.
Based on this detailed assessment Mentor developed a tailored Chartered Management Institute - Leadership & Management accredited middle-management programme. This scheme was designed for delivery in three two-day modules, over a 7 month period, providing necessary intervals to enable delegates to apply their learning. Throughout the programme Mentor tested all proposed programme materials with the Mazars Learning & Development Team to guarantee that they reflected the working environment and challenged participants in the right way against required competencies.
The programme has successfully demonstrated Mazars commitment to its new managers. Individuals achieved improved confidence and impact at work. Participants received one-to-one feedback from the Development Centre, linking into their own personal development profiles. Delegates presented their findings to immediate line managers and partners at Mazars allowing the business leaders to see the return from the programme at first hand.
