Evaluate

The degree of scrutiny used to evaluate the success of people development initiatives varies enormously. Many providers only measure success at a very low level, focused around delegate feedback and numbers of people trained. Mentor Group is very different. Having conducted an in-depth assessment at the outset, we are then able to design a thorough evaluation of the entire initiative and its impact on the wider organisation. Our obsession with measurement sets us apart.

Mentor’s approach to evaluation pays reference to the Kirkpatrick evaluation model and measures success at every level, even the more difficult Level 4. 

  • Level 1 Reaction – Mentor advocate two breakthrough measures: confidence pre-and post-programme and net recommender measures that show likelihood of active recommendation to a colleague.
  • Level 2 Learning – The net increase in knowledge and skills can be quantified through written tests. Mentor also uses pre-and post-web-based reviews.
  • Level 3 Behaviour – Interview, observation or tailored web-based competency assessments can be designed by Mentor to gauge shifts in behaviour. 360° assessments before and after events also provide clear indicators.
  • Level 4 Results – Mentor involve line-managers in coaching and observation, plus review key organisational metrics such as staff retention, revenue, profit and time to target
